Hello everyone! We’re happy to announce the launch of our new store Kreg Tools Online. Kreg tools online carries the entire line of kreg tools including kreg jig, kreg pocket hole machines, pocket hole screws, and more.
More than just a store, the kreg tools online site marks just the first store in a complete online tool mall being built by us here at beavertools to make tool shopping online a lot easier for everyone.
Beavertools began as a company who innovates and the tradition continues with the new beavertools mall, starting with one of the best brands in the woodworking industry and THE name in pocket hole joinery.
So head on over and give it a look. I think you’re going to love what we’ve done. As we add more stores you’ll see more tabs showing up on the top, making shopping for different tool brands as convenient as can be.

Try Karebac brand sandpaper. 100 PSA discs only costs $15 compared to the equivalent “Nirka” discs at $20-$24. I know what your thinking, its cheap because its crap. Well sir, you are completely wrong. In lab tests this paper is nearly identical to “Nirka”. 4 out of 5 carpenters recommend it. But seriously this paper is extremely durable and is definitely worth giving a try. “We are so confident in Karebac’s performance that if you are unsatisfied for any reason, we will fully refund your money”- straight from the Beaver’s mouth.
Tons of new tools and accessories. We will start sending them out next week. Be very excited.
If you are a regular customer you’ve noticed by now we’ve been giving away tools. So far its been only festool tools but if there is something else you think should be given away let us know. Just comment on this post what you think should be given away next.
Festool Give Away
Thats right, Feb. 1 Festool is raising its prices again. So if you’ve had you’re eye on something, or you use a lot of sandpaper, or whatever, you had better stock up now before you have to pay an extra 6% on your Festool goodies.
If you have not already noticed we now carry Fein Tools. And if you have yet to see or hear about the Fein Multimaster I suggest you take a look at it because it is one of the coolest tools I’ve ever seen. Check it out at FEIN Tools
IT’S NOT AS BAD AS THE MEDIA WOULD HAVE YOU BELIEVE.
Is anyone else as sick and tired of the media slants on economic statistics as I am? The latest number that bugged me was a major online news network had a headline that stated “Foreclosures up 70%”. Without reading the article, some people may think that foreclosures have taken a huge percentage increase overall, or even that 70% of homes are in forclosure. In actuality, and I don’t have the exact numbers, but the 70% increase was in new foreclosure, not existing forclosure listings, from October 2007 to October 2008. The percentage of homes in foreclosure in October 2007 was somewhere between 2.5 and 3 percent. This “Up 70%” trumpeted by the headline moved that number to between 3 and 3.5 percent. At the end of the article it stated that the number of U.S. mortgages in deliquency in October 2007 had actually seen a decrease in October 2008.
This economic downturn has been coming for a long time. Irresposible lending and borrowing had been going on for too long. It was going to come crashing down sooner or later. The sad part is that the people who have been doing the right things, living within their means and paying their mortgage on time, are the ones that are going to be left with the bill. The country has the post christmas hangover–we spent too much on the credit cards over the holidays and now we need to pay things down.
All this should have slowed thing down, but not slammed on the brakes. Now the biggest problem is not availability of cash or the volatilty in the markets. The biggest problem now is that all these so called experts have got most Americans convinced that they should be balled up in a fetal position in a corner. “Horde that cash. Don’t spend a dime. Don’t buy a house.” That’s the same mentality as running on the banks back in the REAL depression. If everyone hordes their money, everything looses value because there is more supply than demand.
The biggest problem with the economy now is emotion. We Americans don’t do anything unless it gives us a warm fuzzy feeling. Sure there is anxiety about the future, but if you live within your means, you still should feel comfortable buying that new car or new house, especially with the deals that are out there.
As a business owner and home owner, I am concerned, but I am far from in a fetal position. I am excited about the future of our economy and my business. This downturn can have a very positive effect in the long run. I think the U.S. has the opportunity to move back to the save and invest mentality and away from spend, spend, spend.
Thanks for letting me rant. I look forward to your comments.
